"And God said, let the waters under the heaven be gathered together in one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so . . . and God said, Let the earth bring forth vegetation--and God saw that it was good . . . And God said, Let the water bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life . . . And God saw everything that He had made, and behold it was very good." [Genesis chapter one]
The hippopotamus used to live undisturbed in the African swamps. When man came along to build and plant he cut down trees. Hippos often invaded man's field looking for food. Man decided to destroy the hippopotamus. But then a problem arose--water lilies began to grow and clog man's waterways. Little water snails living in the water lilies carry a worm that makes man sick. Hippos love to eat water lilies. And so man decided to let the hippos live to control the water lilies, open waterways, and cut down the disease carrying snails.
God made the waters, the plants, and the animals. They all work together in life and in death to keep everything working together and to keep everything in balance so that there is not too much of one thing or another.
God does things rightly. We cannot improve upon what God has made. Instead we need to surrender and submit to the God Who works all things well, after the counsel of His will.
The same God Who keeps nature in balance wants to keep your life in balance so you will be just right. You need to surrender to Him. Receive the Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for you and arose again, as your only God and Saviour from sin, and then let Him rule your life in everything.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
