Diamonds

Diamonds and coal are made of the same stuff. Both are made of carbon atoms. The difference is in the arrangement of the atoms. It would take a tremendous amount of pressure to change coal into a diamond.

God tells us that our lives are sinful and useful for nothing but to be cast into the lake of fire forever. Even our best deeds are of no value to God (But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. . .
Isaiah 64:6) But wait, God has demonstrated His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). God wants to change our lives into something different, into something of value. God wants to save us from the punishment for our sins. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” [Ephesians 2:8-9] “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved” [Acts 16:31].

When God saves a person, forgiving them their sin and giving them everlasting life, He wants to use that person to show the universe what He is like. Just like diamonds do not have much value until the jeweler begins to chisel and grind and polish them, so God wants to work in every true Christian’s life to make his life valuable, so that he or she shows what God is like in all His glory.

Has God found you? Has God changed your life? Can others see the Lord Jesus in you? Does your life sparkle for God?
